Black-capped Chickadees are a common winter bird in the areas around Fairbanks Alaska. This painting is part of a series of three watercolors depicting the playful birds based on photographs I took at the Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge. ‘Looking Around’ features a curious Chickadee on a small branch. The painting itself is 4 by 6 inches and the frame is approximately 6 by 8 inches. The famed painting is coated in cold wax medium to protect from the elements.
